Feeders are up!

We've had our first frost. There was welcomed rain for several days in a row. The birds have been frantic. Even in the pouring rain, they've been grabbing seeds.

I stand here for ages just watching them.
They have friends, too. Two black squirrels, one red, and three chipmunks.

We got all the feeders fills, even made, suet and the birds flocked around, even those dang squirrels :)

Everybody's getting ready for winter. I saw what looked suspiciously like snow this afternoon.

Our first killing frost was at least 2 weeks ago. we had light frosts before that. all our frantic bird migration is over.

Love the squirrel's antics, and it is lovely to see the bird feeders all ready for the days when food is scarce. I am sure the word gets spread around, and your place will be overflowing with the starving.

First frost? Wow that seems early to us over here in the UK, especailly since we've had a warm autumn. No doubt we'll pay for it later as we always do. Yes, jenn the birds do suddenly want to return to the qarden feeders as if to fatten up before any big freeze. And your Cardinals are rather special in their bright red winter coats to enliven a frosty morning.
