#2a Tupper Lake Trip: The Wild Center

#1 Tupper Lake Trip

#2a The Wild Center (indoors)
#2b The Wild Center Wild Walk (outdoors)

Take a walk on the wild side!
It was the Natural History Museum, of the Adirondacks, but it's been totally updated. There is lots of activity and many people have donated money for one thing or another.

We met at The Wild Centre, nestled in the Adirondacks.

I haven't been to the USA in ages, either! Thank fully our passports are up-to-date.

The center is amazingly efficient, with solar panels, and a moss roof. The toilets you can flush the handle up for small jobs, and down for big ones (and more water).

The Wild Center

They bring out some of their critters during different parts of the day. We were there when she brought out the kestrel.

Back we went on Sunday, after a late breakfast.
We left JL and the grandies playing on the spider web. More on that tomorrow!
JB, Caitlin and I went walkies around the center, which has a lovely pond. When they have to dump water for the indoor critters, they pump it into this pond for the outdoor critters. This saves on sewers.

They brought out three snapping turtles. One older one, and two of the 2-year-olds. It is full of critters!

The kestrel is a beauty! I photographed a bird today perched on a wall. Seemed quite at ease... it might have been a peregrine.
