Book Review: Epigenetics; The death of the genetic theory of disease transmission

by Wallach, Lan, Schrauzer
What an intriguing book! I'm sent a lot of books I wouldn't otherwise hear about. This one was quite interesting. It traces the history of medicine from ancient times until modern. It is well-written, although a bit thick. It's 500+ pages, and has a glossary, index, and a slim bibliography. This text covers a lot of information and amazing stories.

It is very timely, what with Ebola and Enterovirus, as they are talking about the theories of infection control, and herbal medicines from thousands of years Before the Common Era (BCE). They go on and document germ theory, bacteria, viruses and how amazing research has led to the antibacterial cure of simply washing our hands!

My pet peeve, were references to books not properly documented in the reference section in the back of the book.
On page 16, I found one misprint: "The Beginnnings of Astrology and Medicine" chapter heading. Otherwise, for people, like ourselves, managing cancer cells, there is much on nutrition and trace minerals that I found interesting reading.

The authors (there are three!) write about the development of the Rabies vaccine, and the protocols involved. In this time of Ebola, MRSA, Enterovirus, and other terrible viruses transmitted from animals to humans, it's easy to see how these bugs can spread in countries where myths, misinformation, and lack of education prevail.

The book EPIGENETICS by Dr. Joel. D Wallach & Dr. Ma Lan is a global update of Darwin's book The Origin of Species. There is no other book that embraces all of the events (political, socially, biologically, nutritionally, chemically and genetically) that have been spawned since the publication of The Origin of Species by Darwin, more than 100 years ago.

For the famous Salem witch hunts, they think caused by people infected by grains contaminated with ergot, displayed wild symptoms in purported victims of evil spells. We've learned much about food handling since then.

EPIGENETICS is required reading for the very survival of Americans and yes all of humanity - modern man has bet on the wrong horse to save them from disease and pestilence - the medical system has failed us fearfully. It is predictable that this book will impact the world of the everyday man, science, politics, social engineering and medicine to the same degree that Darwin's The Origin of Species did more than 100 years ago.

Who put the witch in Witch Doctor?

"One of the purposes of this book is to reveal how the understanding of the causes and
H1N1
reasons for human and animal disease and illnesses and their treatment concepts have changed over the millennium as critical observations, new tools, and technologies have appeared to allow the creation of a new truth–a fact is a fact, but truth changes as greater number of facts appear
."
Dr. Wallach, as a veterinary student and pathologist, realized that many diseases rather than being genetically transmitted, were caused by congenital, neonatal, or acquired nutritional deficiencies (combined with inflammation) later in life: as a child, teen, or an adult.  This is something than concerns me.
"America is not calorie deficient, but we are malnourished because of a lack of the 90 essential macro- and micro-nutrients."

Dr. Joel Wallach

What is interesting in this book is that the authors document recent examples of witch hunts: Dr. Wallach being a veterinarian pathologist.
  • July 2011– Remember Jerry Lewis and the MDA telethon? Lewis received documented government research from Wallach in which they found the cause of muscular dystrophy, which was the deficiency of ONE single mineral, Selenium. The telethon dropped Lewis like a brick.
  • Cystic Fibrosis – 1978 - Dr. Wallach had found a congenital deficiency of the trace mineral Selenium in primates: Serendipitous insights involving nonhuman primates.

Vaccines

  • Smallpox, and how cowpox immunity led to vaccines.
  • Pasteur and the Rabies vaccine: the vaccine made by injecting various rabbit with the rabies virus, gradually decreasing the incubation period.
  • Polio vaccines were injected into eggs, diminishing its power, but providing enough serum to form antibodies.
Rene Caisse

Ivey, Donna; Clinic of Hope: The story of Rene M. Caisse and Essiac

The medical community is fairly bad at embracing new theories, especially by those NOT doctors.

One such case was Rene Caisse, a nurse, who successfully treated many patients in Bracebridge using Essiac, derived from Aboriginal recipes. She was totally flogged by doctors, who blocked her every step of the way.

Schopick, J.: Honest Medicine

Another book review I did,  by Schopick. She writes about simple treatments that the medical community ignores. The treatments featured in Honest Medicine are Silverlon for non-healing woundsLow Dose Naltrexone (LDN) for autoimmune diseases such as MS, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease; the Ketogenic Diet for childhood epilepsy; and intravenous alpha lipoic acid for terminal liver disease.

Doctors, and drug companies, will shut down anyone who finds an alternative method to heal, they want their income and more money every year. This book looks so worthwhile reading. Cheers, jean

Oh I love that concept...truth is only as true as the facts which support it... oh to be in possession of sufficient numbers of facts for an absolute truth!

As a practitioner AND as a daily 'liver' my motto is "keep it simple". So much is driven by the $$$invested drug companies. We need meds, no question. What worries me is the focus on ever more expensive meds, overuse of said meds, and lack of grass roots health and hygiene, as is clearly being pointed out here.

Sounds like a good read this one! YAM xx

You've covered a wide area. We're all over the map when it comes to health care. some effective things we don't use and we use some very ineffective things.

It sounds like a lot of it would go over my head, so to speak.

A very thought provoking read. The more information we can read about, the more questions we can ask our medical people when we have to. Thanks for sharing this. It is something I would like to discuss with my husband so will be coming back to this later.
